I'm so nervous I might pee my pants

It disappoints me that the race is even this close.

I like to think that I am open minded, but I cannot even wrap my brain about why in the world, even for a second, anyone would not vote Obama/Biden tomorrow.

The choice is so clear to me, and the other option so irresponsible that I just don't get it.

I don't really dislike McCain or Palin, and I am certainly not as disgusted with them as I was Bush and Cheney, but NO WAY do I want them to run this country.

McCain used to be a strong, hard headed advocate for the citizens of this country. Now he has changed who he is and what his values are in order to get this far in the election. And his most outrageous decision was to ask Governor Palin to run with him. She is surely an ambitious woman but I don't trust her for a second. And as far as her being ready to run the country, uh...how is this even debatable?

Anyway, I'm stressed about this. I really don't want to be crushed again. Hopefully tomorrow=me elated.

The coolest of bloggers only post once a year?

Yeah yeah I suck at blogging etc. etc.

BUT

The election is a few days away and who doesn't want to ramble on about it? I sure do...

I am voting in California, which is fun because it is a blue(ish) state and because they do it up big with the propositions.

Obviously I'm an Obama supporter (duh), and probably I will blab about that in a later post (circa 2010...). However on the props I haven't nailed down all of my votes, so I haven't done my early voting yet.

Proposition 2 has to do with the confining of farm animals. Exactly the kind of thing that I will probably NEVER even have a chance to vote about in Texas. Basically it requires that egg laying hens, piggies, and baby cows get more space to live in.

I am sure that some of the oppositions claims of importing eggs from Mexico and safety and farms losing money are all true...but I think I might go the good old republican way and vote for what's best for me, screw everybody else.

I don't eat piggies (really they are smarter than us), or baby cows, and I'm only into cage free eggs, so the proposition doesn't raise any of my food prices, and might actually lower the prices for cage free eggs...

Mmmm ok so I just looked through the props again and maybe I'm not undecided...

On a tangent, who the hell are these "undecided" voters. I mean, are they serious? I feel that as soon as the VPs were picked, you DECIDED.

Of course, I am thrilled to be able to vote NO on stinking Proposition 8. I don't understand who goes in to a booth to take part in one of the greatest gifts we are given by being citizens of this country, and says to themselves, "I'd like to use my right to vote to constitutionalize discrimination. Hate is awesome." Every time I see a yard sign or a bumper sticker I am mind-boggled. Who are these people? Are they bad people, or just misguided? Who raised them and how are they raising their kids?

There are other big props having to do with abortion and energy and the like, but they really aren't as interesting as they sound.

I'm so nervous about the 4th I don't think that I will be seeping well for the next few days. I took the 4th and 5th off so that I could celebrate/cry without having to deal with silly shoppers/coworkers who aren't obsessed with the future of the nation.

The coolest of bloggers post only once a month...

Fourth of July - This holiday would be much more exciting if I actually had a job to have a day off from...

Saw "Devil Wears Prada" Sunday (after trying to see it 4 times before and it being sold out) - it was enjoyable. Better than the book. I think that Pat Fields should dress me everyday. Or maybe just once a week.

Let's take a look at some pretty (and not so pretty) clothes shall we?

Pretty clothes...yes. Clothes that fit...no. Here is Keira Knightley at the premiere of the new "Pirates of the Carribbean" movie at Disneyland. There is way too much fabric up top for her lack of boobage. She's kind of swallowed. Man she has gotten skinny.

Hot. Dressed down but the are at Disneyland. Johnny is being Johnny, Orlando is being pretty boring. But they are very hot. I think this movie is going to be smoking.

Go look up some more pictures from the premiere. It's the worst dressed premiere ever. So actually don't look. Unless you are into making fun of people...which I, of course, am not.

Here's Keira again at the London premiere. I'm not sure why she is always making that face. And I'm not sure if she thought she was going to Studio 54. However, everyone is dissing the small chest and it is my duty to defend her. Small boobs are fine. When you weigh 95 pounds, you have small boobs (unless you pay for them). Also, she was probably bored with all of the Disneyness surrounding the "Pirates" events and wanted to be sexy in her hometown. Not the best thing I've ever seen but I get it.

Fantasia and Kate wore these leopardy get-ups on the same day - Fantasia to the BET Awards, Kate to a bar opening (big surprise). Something tells me that they did not go shopping together and do not have the same stylist. Therefore, they both, seperately, made the choice to wear full-on leopard print. I am not saying leopard print is always bad. It is just almost always bad.

Beyonce at the BET Awards. This is just silly. There are about 6 big problems with this and they aren't hard to figure out (huge hair, one-strap, fabric, glove, length, and shoes for anyone who is slow). I don't understand how this happens to people who seem like they look in mirrors a lot.

Here's good old Paris at the O2 Wireless Festival in London. I don't know what that is or why she was there. Or why she showed up wearing the same outfit I wore at my 7th grade Valentine's Dance (I am going to refrain from putting pictures of that online). I had better jewelry on and didn't have eyeballs that looked like spiders. Trust me.

Lindsay is in LA at a fundraiser for Africa I believe. I don't know if she has a clue where Africa is, but that is not the biggest problem here. I am a usually a fan of LiLo's choices, but this is no good. She looks like a little girl playing dress-up in her mom's power suits from the 80's. Then she starts playing in the make-up. Then borrows nemisis' shoes (see below). Then decides to walk down a red carpet.

Now this is interesting... I wonder if LiLo and Paris will start a feud over who decided to wear these shoes first. One can only hope. It appears that she is wearing half gloves. And a sailor suit... She would have fit in better at the "Pirates" premiere with the rest of the Disney characters.

I was hoping this posting would be full of pretty things but it's not my fault the celebrities got it all wrong this week. Just goes to show you that in Hollywood, like everywhere else, there are more fashion flops than successes.

I'm currently watching "Four Weddings and a Funeral" (I have an addiction to DVRing movies on TV). I like British movies. Does that say something about me or about my humor? Maybe it is just because Hugh Grant is sexy...

And on another sidenote, the only World Cup game I've watched was Portugal v. England (or as I saw it...Cristiano Ronaldo v. Becks). Afterwards I checked out some info online (mainly pictures of hot soccer guys) and came across a slideshow of Soccer players wives and girlfriends. Good lord. It was like a model parade. Therefore I suggest all males out there drop what they are doing and start kicking balls around. This is apparently the most direct path of bedding a model this side of being a rock-star. And being a rock-star lowers your life expectancy, whereas being a soccer player keeps you in super-fine shape.

I am so glad there are so many hot guys out there to make up for all of the ugly clothes.

Just realized all of the above hotties hail from overseas...and it's the 4th of July...and I don't want to get arrested for being unpatriotic...so here's a babe from right here in the US of A...

Enjoy.

Why can't celebrities dress well?

You would think that with stylists and designers and money and all of it, celebrities would be able to put themselves together. They can't. This month has seemed particularly bad as far as premieres go. Maybe it is the LA heat. Here's a sampling of the better showings from some recent premieres.

Here is Anne Hathaway at the LA premiere for "The Devil Wears Prada." There is always a lot of pressure for celebs to look hot at movie premieres, but a movie with Prada in the title ups the ante significantly in my book. Unfortunately, the celebs that showed up failed to deliver, including Miss Hathaway. Although not tragic, there is a long list of problems with the dress. Wrong color, wrong fabric, weird visible binding in the torso, the skirt looks unfinished. To be fair, I had really high hopes for this red carpet. And they did do better at the NY premiere:

Much better dress for the occasion.

Adrian Grenier is hot. I'm not sure why the bottom of his pants look like that. Someone should have let him know...but he's really hot.

And now the "Superman Returns" premiere. Brandon Routh won the lottery and got the gig, so how did his first big time red carpet appearance go?

He looks pretty good. He's got the smile and wave down. Safe suit choice which was smart. Pretty cute long-term girlfriend makes him likeable to the public. Way to go the first time out Brandon!

Kate Bosworth doesn't go wrong very often. This is indeed a great summer premeire dress. Rather impressive undergarment job, if there is anything under there, it is well hidden. Too bad she's ruining it by slouching. She doesn't look like a confident movie star. Maybe she needed her hot boyfriend Orlando Bloom by her side (he slipped through a back entrance).

Saw this adorable young thing in this fashion-forward (but too old for her) dress and wondered "who is she?" Then read Emma Roberts (niece of Julia). I predict good things fashion-wise from this young star.

Kate Beckinsdale didn't do it for me at the "Click" premiere. The dress is pretty boring and not as flattering as her usual get-ups. It's summer! Your movie is a fluffy comedy! No boring black cotton! At least give us a punch of color somewhere.

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock reunite for the "Lake House." He looks pretty good and summery at the premiere. Doesn't look like he worked too hard at it, but that is his style. I'm a big fan of Sandy's but marrying Jesse James hasn't done good things for her style. Oh well.

Apparently Kristen Cavallari gets invited to big movie premieres for some reason. She's a pretty girl and I like the dress and make-up and nail polish. MTV must have given her good handlers.

I don't even know where to begin. You know that Samantha Harris walked out of the house thinking she was hip like Gwen Stefani. This is just so so so misguided. The necklace, the shirt (both of them), the belt - all bad individually - tragic together.

Entourage started up its newest season this month and the cast looked pretty fly for a bunch of white guys (I am clever).

Kevin Connolly is still with Nicky Hilton. That's cool I guess... For a "fashion designer" you would think that she could have made a better showing. The dress is alright but the hair? Looks like a bad extension job to me. No good.

AFI gave the Lifetime Achievment Award to Sean Connery this month and the guest list was rather diverse. Here is Hugh Hefner with some dates. I am not really sure how this works. Does Hugh buy the dresses or are the girls in charge of it all? About half of the girls look good. The others, not so much. The 2 on the left had the right idea for the occasion (the bunny on the far right gets honorable mention for trying). Of the girlfriends, Bridget is the only one that looks very classy. Kendra and Holly look like they are going to a high school dance. I'm not sure what purple dress was thinking...

Parker Posey gets the award for accepting the most premiere invitations. She is pretty adorable so fine by me if she keeps showing up at everything. Here she is at the DWP, SR and LH premieres:
